2016: A New Lens
As I’ve read l the posts about how miserable 2016 was with all the losses and changes, I realized I’ve been focused on all the bad things that happened to me in 2016:
I was hit by a drunk driver and spent two months in physical therapy.
I fell from a ladder and suffered a concussion.
I was hit again and couldn’t drive Uber for three months due to the city’s worst hail storm backlogging repair shops.
We struggled to sell our house and pay two mortgages.
I worked so much I had no time for my blog or Scentsy business.
My family relationships have been a struggle and the stress caused me to have a mental breakdown 560 miles away.
Our renovations hit setback after setback.
My doctor found precancerous growths.
I was diagnosed with Hashimoto’s Disease, an autoimmune disorder.
I changed subjects and grade levels just when I was feeling comfortable.
And then I CHOSE to look through a different lens and I realized that in 2016, I:
Bought my DREAM historic home
Moved into an amazing COMMUNITY with a lake I’m already in love with
SURVIVED two car accidents and a concussion
and TURNED 50 surrounded by so many dear friends and all of my kids under the same roof.
I DON’T have cancer.
My Hashimoto’s is getting under control with meds and diet.
We SOLD our house and put the money towards this one.
The settlement from the accident jumpstarted our renovations.
Our renovations are complete and gorgeous and already generating income.
We are on our way to a beautiful patio retreat that adds 600 square feet of living space and hosted our first annual July 4th party there.
I have a beautiful new grand niece, my family is healthy, and I’ve learned a lot about boundaries
I survived a breakdown.
I’m back teaching the subject I have certification, knowledge and PASSION in.
I have LOYAL Scentsy customers who stood by me and awesome NEW consultants rebuilding my team
I still have my blog and am excited about its future
Through it all, my husband has been by my side and shares my vision, and my children continue to amaze and bless me everyday.
Looking back, 2016 was amazing and 2017 can only be better. May you and your loved ones be blessed exceedingly in the new year.
